got some velvets the other day,but sadly can\'t keep them alive for any length of time,so I can use them fresh or they give up the ghost before they\'re cock on for peeling.
Have no probs with shore crabs,wots gannin urn?

had a problem with them myself cecil,changed the pump i had and they are ok now,going to getter a bigger pump now as i want to split them into more trays to stop them fighting lol

get them in the freezer for the winter

Got a good few velvets this week. put them straight in the freezer shells and all for the winter the ones that had just peeled cut out the lungs and froze them. Like the lad says you need to keep them well areated, aye they fight, but hell they move quick when you are crabbing for them, and their bloody little vicious critters but lovely and meaty bait. the french like to eat them.
