Thinking of getting some waders advise need which ones to get

Same here mate I've been doing some research and I'm looking at breathable ones now they might be more expensive but it's probably a good investment in the long run, not sure if the stocking foot or boot is better at least with boot you don't bed to buy wading boots as well

Bought a pair of Ron Thompson Neopreme waders about 3yrs ago never had any problems with them.

Ive got both the vass,chest waders, and a pair of Sonik 3 stocking foot breathable chest waders, supplied with boots. I use the breathables for freshwater rivers' and still waters, etc purely as they are lightweight, and are for warmer waters, for coast or cold weather sea fishing the Vass are better heavy duty,dont tear so easy and are better against the cold,as you can wear layered gear underneath, and stronger all round. I would stick with the heavy duty for sea fishing and forget about breathables during winter fishing..

Breathables are great in warmer weather or when walking a long way. In winter, they’re freezing. Get a pair of Ocean PVC waders or neoprenes. The ones with studded soles seem to grip better than ordinary ones.

Having been a salmon angler for a few years now I got fed up with being freezing cold up to the naffs in 5deg water in February in my ocean waders. As you sweat (even standing still) the condensation inside the waders makes you colder. I tried neoprenes, but too hot in any warmer weather or rock hopping but ok for the cold. I switched to breathables and never looked back. You need some with reinforcement in the butt and knees for sea angling. They are like salopettes as well and can be washed. Have used greys G-series stocking foot for the last three years and studded boots but switched to boot foot, easy on/off.

Been using snowbee boot foot breathables lately, great for rock hopping, have felt soles and grip the green slimy stuff great. Got them second hand at a LTS for £60 rrp £135. When it's really cold I wear some fleece tracky bottoms and thermals, warm as toast last night. cheers, Elbob
