I had a canny session on the walkway last night fishing two hours up and three hours down. It was a calm evening with flat water. Second cast I caught a sized whiting 36cm then as high water approached a few more. First hour of the ebb it got busy with lots of knocks and more fish landed. No chance of a relaxe sitting on my box as every time I put my bait out and had just sat down the rod tip was knocking straight away. I missed one big knock that had my whole rod tip jumping about like Zebedee. It quietened down about midnight and no more fish turned up. I ended up catching six whiting 33cm to 39cm and also a small dab. I lost another whiting just as I was lifting it out of the water and it would have been the biggest fish of the session looking well over 40cm. All fish were caught on mackerel except for one which was on prawn.

It's in South Shields mate. It is where Velva Liquids used to be before they pulled it down and put the posh houses up. Next to the Yacht club. Sorry for late reply, been away for a week.
