Fished the Walkway, from 9am till 2pm, lost alot of gear, and ended up with absoloutley nowt!!! Put a new Spool of Line on my Reel, (ALL BY MYSELF) LOL, being the only plus point of my day. Wind picked up as the Day went on, Hard for me to tell a knock from Wind being new to this!!!
Anyway, better lok next time eh!!!:mad::mad:

unlucky mate might be best off going in the dark and if its still crap its always worth a few casts up the customs house always a few fish kicking around there

Cheers Mate, ill probs try that pace in the future like, The more marks I try the better eh...
I GASH, I was gettin ****hed right off with the snags, deffo be needig a trip to a tackle shop before my next outing, lol...:rolleyes:rolleyes:

atleast ya gave it a go mate beats sitting in the house the best spot at the walkway i find is straight in front of the disabled ramp (next to the orange floatant aid )chucking about halfway into the river the best bait ofcourse is crab

Spot on cheers lads. Im gana have to try a few diffrent baits, as im a rag and lug man, basically just because thats all i know how to bait up. Ive seen my mates using crab, razorfish, and squid. Suppose ill just have to watch how they go about baiting up next time am out with them...in the past ive been more interested on keeping my sel baited up and ready to switch jigs and straight back in the water, which is becoming more easier now...

Cheers Fellas ;) ;) ;)

Hard lines bestnest. Bloke once told me there was an old mooring rope running parrallel to the walkway about 40 yards out so as kingcod says it's best to get a canny way out. Crab is the bait for the place in my experience and if you fish on a big tide when it's running fast you'll get swepped away and snagged so yer better fishing around either top or bottom water in this condition or just fish the place on a smallish tide. Welcome to nesa.

Cheers g.ordon, it sounds about right that the old bloke is right about that rope. Im gana have to give Crab a go in future. Im ganna Fish an couple of hours before high water, next time im out. Wherever I go. Is that Rope suposed to be on the Deck or just floating below the surface?
:confused::confused::confused:

If it's there mate I would imagine it'll be on the bottom.

the last time i fished the walkway it was a big tide and i fished the flood with two others, eleven casts later eleven weights gone and that was everyone of us,
33 weights, must be some lead in the tyne.
i now know best to fish it on a small tide two hours either side of low water.

Cheers Danny.
A small tide meaning not much difference between high and low, so the pull wont be qs quick???
A reckon all the fish may have die due to lead poisining HAHA!!!:D

Forgot to say best nest, I was just referring to the river about fishing times and that's just to reduce tackle loss. In my opinion and experience fish come alive when the tides running fastest at most venues, it's just uncontrollable sometimes at the walkway.

Small tides are easier fishing on the walkway, a good chuck into the middle helps but isn't absolutly essential but you will miss the majority of snags. I've had some of my best "local" fishing there with over 10 sizeable codling in a few hrs. Crab is a good bait there, but I've had good results on frozen blacks.
Was the wind blowing in ya face or down the river?

It was blowing down the river mate, getting stronger and stronger as the day went on. I was on the Groyne the Day before and there wasnt a bit of Wind. Perfect Conditions...What s difference a day makes eh? lol...
As I say, Ive only ever used Rag n Lug, Gonna have to start using other Baits...
