I fished the Walkway last night up to high tide at 2am. It was a still night with the water as flat as a fart. Baits used rag, mackie and bluey. I was into fish from the first cast with a tommy then plenty of knocks and small fish for the rest of the session. The final score was nine fish, two crabs, some seaweed and a charver coat. The coat gave a good fight coming in as it was full of water and I felt like I had hooked into moby dick :) The species were one codling, one coley, two flounders, four dabs and a plaice. A nice night to be out and some canny sport but nothing big enough for the pan. I was pleased with the plaice though as it's the first one I've ever caught at the walkway after years of fishing there I didn't think you could get them there.

Yeah, the last few months of fishing the walkway have been nothing but a tackle graveyard since the PTA increased the dredging, there is now a submerged and exposed cutoff pylon around ten yards out that extends the whole length and the dredging has created a deep channel after, which causes snag city on retrieves, last time I was there I lost 10 rigs with weights, despite changing positions several times, and the only sized fish I ever caught there was a 39cm coley, I used rag, crab, runnydown, and mackerel.
After the last time, I don't fish there anymore
