most hardware shops sell them ,depends on what size and type you want . between £10 and £35.

Just got mine filled (19 or 22 kg can\'t remember which) cost £16.

It costs more if you don\'t have an empty bottle to hand in.

I drove along the fish quay tonight and counted 3 lying around

Is it propane you wud use if i was melting lead with and can the blue calor gas bottles be filled with it

blue = butane
red = propane

it would depend what type of burner your using ??

dont suppose itl make any odds if your just using a single burner

I use the blue Butane,it gets hot and melts the lead,did\'nt think it would make a difference or does it ?

i use natural gas lol too bleedin cold to be meltin lead in the shed

i think its down to the type of fumes the gas gives off alan red ones are normaly placed outside caravans etc and are used for cooking but the blue ones are used mainly for heaters ..id say it makes no odds for melting lead they both get hot

propane is a bit hotter and a differnt pressure I think. put a gas hob in the house and had to fit new jets to the burners to allow for this cos there\'s no gas out here and leccy cookers are pants

propane also burns better than butane in cold weather dont no why but thats what it says on the bullfinch gas supplies site

you need lots more ventilation with lpg than natural gas
