Warkworth Pier 22/07/12

Me and Jim had a session off the pier today.

Bloody windy

Had a few flounders and a couple dab. on rag tipped with sandeel.

Tried but failed getting any mackerel, only seen two caught when we were there, and plenty of people trying for them.

At least yer got a few fish to keep you busy mate. I've always wanted to fish that pier and will eventually. Heard it's one hell of a hike like, especially if yer lugging heavy fishing equipment with you an all

The bloody rest was the first thing I was thinking of ditching for the walk back like.

Nice report, glad you got a few. I think a bike is pretty useful for that mark. Amount of times some smart **** has zoomed past me while im lugging my gear on that walk

We got our first caravan back in 76 at warkworth and I soon discovered the pier and fishing. Remember getting told off by this old guy for fishing off the broken end just where you were. He said it would fall over into the harbour any day now. 30 odd years on and its still toppling

aye it does weigh a bit like doesnt it. i had mine for three yrs kept using my other one until it completely gave way ..now using the salt again ...tis heavy like .

it usually fishes ok for the macky, bit warm settled weather`s what we need, we`re due a few month`s of it. good report m8.
