its the Bob White Memorial Comp, its 7 am and theres meeting in the warlord cabin:confused: the agenda; where to go:question:
present at the meeting jeff (skipper, ling king no1 crewman, sconner "the apprentice":) choices were north, east or south:confused: to be fair sconner suggested going west to warkworth and having a day on the drink:question:

with my years of experience in keeping skippers right;) jeff finally agreed we "go north":exclam: its worth adding that this was to be a day of three very different thirds:exclam::exclam:

the weather was fine and the sea only had a hint of a swell, water was as clear as i have ever seen:exclam:

as we came into view of the first mark theres someone on it,well they were circling trying to find it:exclam: lets hope they did

not the best start to the day:(
the next few marks took us up till about 10 30 am and very little in the way of fish of any size:(
there were mutterings of" the jock has made a right Henry Halls of this:(
and i was beginning to beleieve them
fortuneately the next 2 or 3 hours saw a dramatic chang in fortunes, with a couple of double figure fish coming over the side,:)plus a few more in the 6 to 9lb bracket
time slips away when you are enjoying yourself and all too soon its time to plan the route home, fishing a few more marks on the offchance of pulling out summat to beat jeffs 15lb ling:exclam: a few more fish were boated, but no monsters:(
all in all a fantastic day with a few fish and a lot of banter:D
the weigh in confirmed jeffs fish was the heaviest of the day,and of course it won the sweep on the boat:( talk about money going to money:D:D:D:D:D

fish weighed in ranged from 15 lb down to a couple of pound, there was a great table of prizes in the schooner where the presentation was held, there was also one hell of a table full of grub supplied f. o. c. by derek:)
warlord squad took a few prizes off the table for their efforts:),as did natalie kristan:),elizabeth jade:) ,wicked jack:)growler:)and obviously some more i cant remember
some night in the not too distant future monies raised, will be presented to the rnli and st.oswalds:)

a big thanks once again to all who played their part in whatever way

Great day to be at sea and i for one love it when its a massive lazy swell, love watching them waves roll past the boat but no good for pirking :)

Good catch as always there :)

Seems you made the right choice, north:cool: 15lb,a worthy fish for a winner. Wish i could have been there. Two worthy recipients for the donations, well done everyone.:D
