Today Sunday 22nd January whilst training at the lifeboat station our crew witnessed 3 fishermen being arrested for being on Cambios peir, it seems that the police are now arresting anyone found on the pier, this has been heard in the past that they were considering it, but it now looks like they are going ahead with it.

My warning do not go onto the pier or you will possibly be arrested.

Just wanted to warn everyone of this before it happens.

I\'ve been told that they\'re now adopting the same approach on the South Pier at Sunderland. They used ot just ask you to leave.

Jeff.

ive also heard this as well mate , im from blyth and also heard that a few anglers have had there gear confiscated off them , not sure if theres any truth about the gear but have heard that they get arrested for tresspassing

i didnt think they were allowed to take your gear off you , but then again anything is possible where it comes to the law, maybe the police are trying to get a collection of fishing gear for to start there own club LOL

Shame or what. Fished it years ago. And i mean it \"years ago\"ie back in 1963/4 you know the days when a ferry operated between the saithes :( My old man being a piss pot used to make for the Seven Stars pub.

Used to cast out with the old Scarborough outfitoff the Seven Stars jetty, peg the old bell to the end then used to put the world to rights in the bar with a young Snatcher getting hooked on the fumes :D

Those were the days :D

i can see why they are stopping fishermen from going on there cos in all honestly it is a dangerous place to fish , beams missing, the railings falling apart to the part where they are just crumbling away , but there is good bags of fish to be had off there , but is any fish worth it , not to mention its a right pig of a walk as well

There was a lad arrested a few weeks ago and had his gear taken off him,I was told about it in the local tackle shop shortly after it happened plus Fishfinder Paul left a post regarding this at the time

Not sure Paul but I seen a lad going along lastnight he more or less walked straight through the gates so its either open or a canny hole in it

Lmfao. This was one of the reasons that a mark X was posted a few weeks ago.

We were slated by a few people that did not read enough post\'s on NESA. If those post\'s had been read the likes of Cooky would have kept his big mouth shut.

Do not fish on Cambois pier, if you do you could end up in a lot of trouble. That is what we were trying to say at the time.

Also if you do not know how to get on, it can be VERY dangerous.

Jim.

been on there a few times , dont like it much , had some good fish off there but i think its too dangerous to go along there now,

ive never fished the area before but was going to just before christmas. i was going to fish cambois hole, do u have to go along the pier to gaet to the ladders or am i thinking of a different place? is camboise the one with the turbines?

cambois pier is the 1 with the turbines mate , you dont need to go along the pier for to get to the ladders on to the rocks, just before the start of the pier on the left hand side mate there is ladders that you can use for to get on the rocks, in case of an emergency for to get off the rocks there is also ladders up to the pier from the rocks , theses are located next to the gate after the second windmill on the pier.

cheers pete i will try there when i get chance our lass is expecting a baby in the next 4 weeks so ive limited oppotunities at the moment, wish i had went to cambois b fore christmas i went to portmulgrave instead looked down from the cliff top only saw a couple of lights so hiked down only to find about 20 blokes fishing and no space so had to walk allthe way back up
