Last night I was fishing at Quarry hole Newbiggin and some t**t sneaked up and stole my Shakespeare Beta tackle box. The box had loads of gear in it including a SLOSH20 and headlamp. When you tot up how much everything equates to it is quite surprising.
I was fishing about 50yards from my gear because of the sea conditions. Strangely my Tripod and jar of mussels were left.
Two years ago I had my Landrover trashed in Newbiggin with £2500 worth of damage whist I was fishing the same mark.
I don't think I will be making the same mistake again.
The fishing was crap!

Bad news that mate - comes to something when you can't be a few yards from your gear. Hope the scum gets what's coming to him!

sorry to hear about your gear

it wont be on ebay it will be in some little secondhand shop
they would have got enough for a wrap of drugs

what scumbags

sory to hear whats happened tony you are not having much luck, i fancy a shimano trinidad reel but whats the point if you are fishing on your own the chances are the thugs will come along when you are on your own and pinch it, i try to when i go fishing to get my gear out of the car quick on account if people see you going fishing they know you will be away for a while .

Cheers for the info tony..Best all be vigilante.. Im sure it has to be local!!and knowing how many in newbiggin go fishing and know who you are ..Im sure it will filter down who it is and hopefully they will get a good hiding !!
Its a sad world when you can't be 50yrds away from your gear without having to worry!! bas...ds !!

RATTY:- There's no such thing as a little bite in the hoojars and there's no chance of reconstruction surgery cos' he'd swallow the buggers (that comes from watching Fear Factor).

I find a reducer is always handy to keep in your hand if any parasites decide to pay you a visit. It would probably hurt if you hit anyone with it so keep your fingers out the way....lol (probably hurt more if the end was filled with lead balls).

Sorry to hear about this Tony, it realy is the lowest of the low, I fish a lot on my own, (I'm off out in 1/2 hour as it happens), and it makes me a little worried. Hope you get some gear back,
Ian.

Bad craic!

Many moons ago I posted on Nesa looking for advice on a film script I was thinking about based on a big NE sea fishing comp. I had a couple of scenes in mind one was

Big dark beach, main characters staring out to sea/watching rod tips. Gear 40 yards up the beach. Rough neck youth appears on dirt bike and steams down the beach snagging one of our heroes bags and buzzing past. Fishing lad reels in his line (It's Hollywood remember and a 5:1 retrieve ratio) and sets up for a mad pendulum cast. Sets lead sailing down the beach (camera shot like on that arra from Robin Hood Prince of Teef) In distance thieving hoody gets dropped like a stone by a 6oz bullet.

High fives all around.

I'll explain about how the "King of the Bouncers" Range Rover Sport ends up floating off North Row Ends in another installment.

Bad Craic though definetly

i always have my dog with us when im fishing unless its somewhere it cant get,i always feel better when ive got it around.

Shocking news about your gear Tony, I will pop into Marties (Ashington) and ask him to keep an eye out for some heap of cxxp trying to sell dodgy gear.
:o :o
