watch your back

I'm absolutely disgusted at whats happened to you Tony! Nothing but pure scumbags!
At one time it used to be our cars that were on our minds while fishing...now it seems we can't even venture 50yds from our tackle boxes...makes ya sick.

I was fishing Ryhope a few years back, an all nighter from the beach, when two creepy characters approached me and asked me how I was doing? Wondering what the hell they were doing on the beach at 3am (I knew they weren't fishing as they stunk of beer and were wearing tracksuits), I told them the fishing was slow and hoped they would just wander away - wrong! At this point I was beginning to feel the worst was about to happen, and began planning what to do, Ian Golds tripod through the neck should do it, I thought, or a filletting knife through the heart, when at that point two lamps appeared on the beach and headed my way...I've never been so relieved to see a couple of anglers in all my life - the two creepy ones wished me luck and left...it could've been all innocent - but I definately feared the worst!

theft and personal safety.

theft and personal safety.

Unfortuantly is it is a sign of the times. If theres money to be made and its grabable some smackhead will lift it. The goods will then be sold for next to nowt and guess where the money goes.
As to violent situations. Anyone can use reasonable force to protect themselves.
If two a-------s fancied there chances well--
Fortunately i have never been put in this position, however i recently heard some guy got beat up on Steetly pier at Hartlepool because he would not give someone some bait.
This is what someone told me so i do not know if it is true.
Overall i think we are in a safe sport with a lot of comrade from other people fishing who you may never have met before.
