You had me worried  there for a moment.

Well good day fishing wise with a great stamp of cod upto 11lb 2oz and the mackerel have come in but got chucked all over after 10am, mind what was great was being well off and having what can only be a Orca Whale (killer whale) checking the boat out before heading off. They get them at Seahouses this time of year when the seal pups are born guess it went abit far south...new one at sea for me that one.

Nice one, I'd like to have seen that, any pic's? I’d be bricking it if a whale popped her head up and started scoping out the boat.

We stood in shock at first it took me at least 30 seconds to react....so no pic's missed some great chances as well as it came almost full body out the water to show its white markings and big black fin.

You saved a days leave Kev it was bumpy to say the least past the 5mile mark, mind great stamp of fish with 4 fish around the 7-8lb and a double, was 11lb before gutting at the Marina it was 10lb 2oz after...the ling are still small like only straps at the moment not had one over 4lb yet this year.

When I had the explorer elite I remember drifting in a calm sea about 6 miles off , a pod of dolphins started circling the boat about 50 yards out and coming in ever closer, I thought it was magic and stopped fishing just to watch them , there were three of them and eventually they were so close that they were rubbing along the side of the boat, now I love watching anything like that and being alone in a dead calm with no engine running and no sounds other than the blow and splash from these creatures made it an even more beautiful experience. One of these "dolphins" came alongside the boat swam from stern to bow rubbing against the boat and it actually moved the boat in the water , I looked at it alongside the boat and it was nearly as long as the boat which was 16ft long and it was black and white, I'll be totally honest and tell you "killer whale" was the first thing that came to mind and it spooked me a bit :red: , so much so that I remember thinking (probably out loud ) "I don't think I like this any more" and decided to start up the engine which moved them on. I've always thought it was just another species of dolphin , but you have got me wondering now

Well we had Dolphins arms length twice last eyar and in the distance 3 or more times and i can say this was no Dolphin and it was arms length from the boat as well, great to see any type of wild life, also seen a seal when we got to the River mouth.

Now its all eyes on the Friday weather, ticking of the targets for 2012 nicely at last..double ling next on the cards then a harder target....catfish.

Am watching the weather and i like that orange thing they are showing..i may even need the old sun cream out in the morning for the Friday moring trip out :) midn it be out of date now, not been used since May 2011

Roll on Friday let the fish be landed :)
