Waterproofs

Thought I'd add my tuppence worth as I've been buying 'water proof' fishing clothing for over 35yrs. From the old type of oilskins to modern goretex etc.
I have a pair of Sunridge salopettes that still fit :) amd are still waterproof 15yrs on, and they have been used a lot. With Daiwa taking over Sunridge, I would hope they still have the same high quality.
As for jackets in the winter I have a Marinepool floatation jacket about the same age. They are expensive but they do last a long time. I also have an Abu Garcia smock that is meant to be waterproof but has let water in since I bought it a couple of years ago. So I only tend to use it if there is no rain forecast. Since Abu was taken over the quality of their products has seemed to lag behind other manufacturers.
If you have a look around and see what is the most popular brand and who looks dry, I don't think you will go far wrong.
