Waterproof flotation suit?

Just after your thoughts here.
I was out on Blyth pier on Friday night, and got caught in the heavy rain with the wind behind it.
I stuck it out for a few hours, but eventually gave up fishless and cold.
I got back to the car, and when I took of my salopettes, my legs were wet.
I was wearing my Sundridge Mark 2 flotation suit.
I think that the wind behind the rain may have been the reason why the water was forced through the material of the salopettes, but I was wondering whether anyone had similar experience.
Cheers

I have got the mk5 suit & up till now they have been fine. Mind you I have just come of roker beach with the dog & the wind & rain are horizontal. It will be a good test for any waterproofs.

I was out in it also, I had a mustad 4 seasons suit on and my mate had a titan suit on. By the time we went home we were both soaked thru to the skin! 6 hrs of heavy rain is just too much for any suit! lol

Got to admit I had my greys smock on and I was bone dry in all that rain that night and my mate had the titan jacket and he ended up leaving early as he was drenched ,cant rate the greys gear enough

If ya suits dirty mate it'll let water in. The legs will leek as most of us get on our knees to bait up. Give it a wash and then re-waterproof it. Hopefully that'll do the trick. Failing that then The greys appollo smocks are top drawer as has been said. I've been out all night long when the rain has been lashing down and coupled with a set of chesties have stayed bone dry.

Good luck

Tony

Al i,ve just binned my SAS mark 2. Its an old suit and the leggings are not lined like the suit i have just bought. This being the SAS Mark 5.

This years suit is a mark 6. Almost the same as the 5.

The suit is also a lot lighter and very waterproof. (hit by a wave a couple of weeks ago). and dry as a bone.

Mick.
