Wd40

Seen bait sprayed with WD40 but didn't see improvements to the catch rate, BUT as a well known supermarkets would say "every little helps".
isn't WD40 fish oil based?

Tried it a few times from the shore but to no avail although when used on a boat i have had better results i only ever spray my ragworm though

I've also heard it attracts women if you spray it on yourself ;) someone try it this weekend and let me know the results so I can stock up at poundland :D

I should ov put some on my hair as it has turned a rusty ginger colour so people tell me i thought it was strawberry blonde

as david northeast says seen it work on the boat, and improve catch rate, but it might gone that way any hoo im very cynical about sprays and additives in the sea at least

still waters, well i dont fish em so i dont know:confused:

As said sprayed on mackrel helps the scent trail seen it work well off the ratty for whities before, ive never used it like.

used it before...only pullled a big f-off grannylasher on the piece of bluey and wd40. however wd40 does not contain oil from fish as previously thought ..

Well what can I say, short answer yes it does work, try this in the house get a hook put some bait on it spray it with wd40 submerge it it water and watch how it distributes, it works because of that. Fish are attracted to smells, the mlr
That smell can distribute the better, I've had nights where wd40 has saved the day :)

Nobody other than the four people within the company entrusted with the recipe know what the ingredients really are; but I found this:

MYTH (vs) FACT

A dear friend of mine Clara, emailed me some information regarding WD-40. It included many common uses and functions of the product. This sparked an interest in finding out just what all of the fuss was over WD-40? I was well surprised to find not only the real history but the secret ingredient found within the broadly used WD-40 products.

What is the main ingredient in WD-40?
  • MYTH: WD-40 contains Soddard Solvents (synonymous with mineral spirits). What was referred to as soddard solvents years ago was a harsh group of mineral spirits that today have become re categorized according to their level of refinement. WD-40 does use mineral spirits in the formula. But the more refined distilled version provided by today's modern methods of purification. 50% mineral spirits within the content defined by today's standards is what you will find in the WD-40 recipe. Which is nothing like the soddard solvents of yesterdays other harsh product lines.
  • FACT: WD-40's main ingredient is refined fish oil. This is true and has even promoted the spraying of fishing lures by fishermen who swear it attracts the ichthyological critters. WD-40 strongly states that they do not recommend this use, as WD-40 should be handle as you would any petroleum based product.

wd40

wd40 stands for water dispersal 40 as it took 40 tries to get it perfected, its made from fish oil so should work as it leaves a canny slick when used

Definately works, saw a guy catch two cod in two chucks using rag sprayed with it. I had fished all night with rag/lug and had nothing but whities:mad:
