WEATHER and fish.

WEATHER and fish.

Well Richy boat looking good and like you say you just need some good weather to get out there and the fish to go with it so good luck for the weekend :D:D:D

Boats looking very seaworthy indeed, could I ask what do you put on your prop to slow down the fouling over the summer.

Last year I made a big mistake and covered my prop and rope-cutter in lanolin's cream,on a late steam over to Isle of Man my speed was well down and I thought I'd picked up something on the prop.
After drying her out in Douglas the prop was covered in fouling and also some pitting to the bronze prop,I could only put this down to the sheep oil I had used.
I have tried hard anti fouling but just washes off.

Looking smart Rich, waiting with baited breath to find out how much better she is with the replacement part. I expect it to be .. "substantially" better.

good luck mate, see you out there soon (if the weather ever improves :( )

Harry last time i just painted it with some anti-foul paint that is designed for props, this year i have used a lacker made by Flag, it does the same job just clear. TBH i think anything you put on will be wahsed off quick, my boat is 11 years old this year and the prop has some pitting but nothing to worry about for 10 more years :)

Hope so Norman, need to spend a day when it is in the water doing the finishing touches as the book says you cant align the engine/gearbox and shaft until the boat is in the water as everything settled down, she is set with in 0.2 now but will move once in the water, a couple of hours and should be done.

Just hope they get the weather wrong thsi year as they are reporting strong west winds for most of our summer unless that jet stream moves.

Just got back from caravaning Rich, Stingray's looking fabulous. Glad to hear your arm is sound, just in time for hauling them big skate in.:D
Good luck for the coming season.

You never missed much, water is black close in and algi blood further out...soon be time thou its close i can feel it in my blood or that may just be the curry from last night :)

Well i had 2hrs 30mins out tonight after work, sea was canny with a small south east roll, drift a tadd fast and water alittle coloured but nice to be out.

Anyway kept the tradition going and for the 5th year in a row i blanked on my first trip of the season, tried 4 wrecks upto 4 mile off and some rough ground with runny down, squid, pirk and twin tails, so thats the normal trip out the way time to start fishing if that wind would go west at the weekend :)

Nobody else out apart from a yak
