stood on something while swimming on holiday in portugal,the pain was the worst i'v experienced. hobbled a mile to a marina all the while the pain travelling up to my neck,sweating buckets, panic kicking in. a woman on a boat who understood my story brought a bucket and poured a whole bottle of bleach in, told me to put foot in topped it up water. almost instant cure. now always wear trainers.

Just googled the blinkin' thing and fatality is rare though sometimes there's respiratory failure and gangrene after being hit!

New that was ganna come at some stage during this thread (nice one). I new it would come out a bit macabre but I think it's good to make people aware of the danger and what could happen if ya get hit, next time yer pulling up a tiddler and chatting to yer mates at the same time just have a second look.

No you are right mate we are lucky in uk about the only danger fish I've always been safe can't stand handling rockling without a duster/rag lol
Look out for that little bloody dorsal fin
