Looks like the weather is starting to look up. Weekend looking like it could get into the 20s. Let's just hope it's here to stay for a while at least. So looks like an early start for us on Sunday.

I will make my call 12noon Friday for the weekend, one thing is sure in life and thats the weather will change every day on the forecast until about 24hrs before and even then they get it wrong :)

Fishing has been good so hoping to get out 3 days this week, the codling feeding close in wont be here past late May in such numbers i recon, they are having a field day at the moment feeding on crabs and small sandeels close in.

The weather forecasts are all over the place at the moment. They also change from day to day. I was out last Thursday and the forecasts over the weak before had absolutely everything in it from still to storm and from rain to sun, from 1C to 20C and from NE to SW.

Even the very last forecast before we left had it wrong.

Bank holiday Monday was the same, it forecasted wind and when I looked out the window it was calm..we decided to fish and it was glorious.

Yesterday the opposite: Forecast said W7-9 kn and we went out to a wreck and almost went into trouble with a strong Northerly wind of easily 15 knots.

Yeah I ventured out briefly on Sunday, hours excercising with my rnli crewmates then headed out to the can , plenty boats fishing but my drift was far too quick then a wall of darkness grew towards us!, heavens open and sea got up so called it a day. Hope this week is good to us

Big tides but should be fine for the rough ground drifting.

Good luck to everyone, i am having 3 days out in a row if that weather holds.
