started on Friday/Saturday and fished the walkway from bottom up to two hours before high a few just size fish all returned and two at 45/43 cm kept for the pot . then on saturday night I fished ss pier just after the first gate for a couple of hours over high water with nothing but crabs taking my bait
on to tonight fished the hole in the wall on ss pier to use up what bait I had left
first chuck a size codling and the bites just kept coming ended up with 5 size codling 3 coalies and a flattie all fish returned then on the last chuck a nice 48 cm codling kept it for the pot so looks like Iam having fish pie for my tea this week

I was snug as a bug mate but my feet were frozen on every night despite having two pairs of heat holders socks on
I have told my lass the kids can get me some thermal boots for xmass
I have a pair that I use when out shooting but the salt water would wreck the in no time
I wont be back out fishing now till boxing day so will try out new boots then

Thermal boots

Just treated myself to a pair of Grubs frostline wellies.
Supposedly good to -40.
Tried them out putting up the Christmas lights for about 3hrs in -5, and my feet were the warmest part of me !
( No smart comments I was banking Brownie points for winter fishing campaign !:D)
Got them for £63 quid off the net, (Down from £90).
Look just like normal wellies, but with neoprene tops.
They have 5mm neoprene lining and so far looking like the business.
Watch when ordering as they are a generous fit, I ordered my shoe size, and there is plenty of room for very thick socks ?
Tried them with some Brasher 4 season, which are very thick socks, and were spot on !
