When fishing over rough ground is it better to use a gripper or does the plain lead have a better return rate.

when fishing over rough ground i prefer 2 use a gripper nut i tend 2 use it with a pulley rig so it gets out the way of all the snags. gemini weights are at a high standard put i use generally just normal 5 oz gripers.

i fish rough ground at cambois a lot and tend to use plain beach bomb sinkers attached to a weak link if i do get snagged i lose the weight and nowt else,i dont see the point of throwing the more expensive weights away when a sinker will do the job
