i did at last agm but a lot of our members fish the pier end and no were else so there in favour of macky if all the members turned up at meetings the story might be different but ime quite happy just plodding on in river for flounder and codling

Rod it may work in your favour. when the mackerel come in large numbers then they might all miss the weigh in trying to carry the 100s of dead mackerel that 1mile off the pier.

Nice fish mate, especially fot this time of the year.
Aie mate, I must admit its a bit silly weighing mackeral in as you have got flounders and codling in ther rivers alongside some nice coalies to peeler crab baits. But i would fish for them on the corks of the piers using mackeral strip to catch the mackeral if i was low on peeler and couldn't fish the rivers.

i cant realy complain as this rule has always been in force and i joined knowing this

Rod, If the limit is 5 macky and people want to keep macky in, then at your next AGM why not suggest a lower limit of 3 macky which is in the interests of conservation and people may change what species they target.

thats not the case sless i was in the club until recently and if members dont turn up for meetings they dont get to vote i understand that not everyone can make every meeting but if they can make the effort to go to the agm they will get to vote so to say that one bloke makes the rules is wrong mate i do agree that macky should not be allowed but its up to people to decide where they want to fish they dont have to fish the river or the pier ill say it again though well done rod nice fish mate and stick to the river it will give you a better stand on the ruling in the next agm

Rod can they fish for Mackerel using any method,ie daylights,spinners and floats if so then suggest its and "Hook and Sinker" only rule and keep the 5 Mackerel ruling at the next AGM
