What a day at whitby

picked my son Andrew up from selby,in yorkshire at 02.30am ,got to Whitby about 04.00am,unloaded the gear at the start of the West pier,parked the car up the bank.
we were not the first fisherman on the end,a local lad beat us by 5mins.
tackled up with daylights and a 32grm silver spinner on the end.
2nd cast 4 coalies,all returned,then the local gets a macky,then andrew gets 2 mackys,it goes on and on untill 10 am,people come and go,seen a German youth loose a pollock about 8/10lb just could not hold on.
got a few hours sleep,then back on the end,fished till 9pm,ended up with 50 mackys 1 cod about 5lb and a sea bass about 2.5 lb ,all in all we hooked over 100 fish,also took 30 of the biggest sandeels I have ever seen,what a days fishing Brilliant

Its about time, we new they were in,we sneaked on when the workmen left work about a month ago,it was 5 every chuck,we just waited untill they opened the pier for good ,it was a long hot day,you should have seen the shoals of sandeels
