what a dissapointing day :(

so me and my fellow newbies decided to go for a boat trip on wednesday (our first) i got all the bait, id spent ages organizing it and got a message the night before that because of the weather it was a no go

so because i had defrosted all the squid ect we decided to go down south shields anyway. as soon as we cast out at least 3 seals and god knows how many dolphins turned up... needless to say we got nowt!

if it makes you feel any better, i was out on charter boat from hartlepool yesterday and there was very little caught
it was very rough first thing as well
all in all a very expensive waste of time
Stick to the shore fishing, it gets boring just dropping it down the side and constantly holding rod after a few hours

possibly the same guy
i was just taking someones place last minute so not sure of details
he did say he had put people off on the wednesday but offered them the thursday instead because of weather
lovely boat and good skipper, fishing was diabolical though
biggest fish was around 6lb infact all 3 that where caught looked identical size
the only bait they would touch was full squid
I think a whole squid is often over looked as a good bait from the shore

mate i would be over the moon with a 6lb fish! biggest fish ive ever had was a 3lb rainbow trout. my sea record is 2 mackerel on 1 line, a 1.8lb coal fish, and a flounder! haha

aye but a 6lber on boat tackle dragging it straight up from the bottom is a lot different to a 6lber off the shore with a beach rod mate
totally different experience
6lb off the boat is a tiddler

Get down whitby uptiding loads of fish to be had its fishing red hot at the minute last time I was out I had bowt 20 fish think I kept 13.
5-6 were 4-5 pound there was a few mops which were gut hooked and wouldn't survive otherwise they would og gone back

yeah, seemed a top bloke, not someone who would cancel us unless it was in our best interests not to go out
