dowly mate ...blueys are a type of fish from east. also known as the pike mackerel ...it has high oil content (supposedly ) u would use the same way u would use mackerel. the main difference is the amount u pay for blueys compared to mackerel. i have caught flatties on sandeel/bluey combo and codling on lug/bluey combo... the flesh will go soft quickly tho imho. from personal experience i cannot rate it higher than mackerel. i have some oldmagazines rating them highly due to the oil content . try it urself and decide....
i have used bluey for a long time and they fish better than mackrel my 9 year ols son uses just a strip of bluey in our club matches and always gets fish 3 quid for 3 at billys coalies love the stuff

Gotta agree mick im still quite new ta fishin the north east coast and only discovered bluey last season. But still had better results on bluey than mackrel....... Nowt big like mainly coalies as ya say but still a few size ones. The only thing I dont like about it is the name wiv me being an avid Liverpool supporter lol
