hello all, once again im looking to pick someones brains. just wondering what braid i should load my sl175 reel and how much of it i will need.this is for my upcoming trip on sarah jfk. as always all advice is welcome
dynon 3000 55lb breaking strain £22 for 300 metres, put 150 on your reel and you got 150 spare :exclam: sorted
BUT the bad news there are at least 8 maybe more good braids with varying prices to choose from
only serious advice dont go below 50lb breaking strain, not because of the b.s. directly but because of resistance to abrasion on rock and wreck structure, for this reason some people use a shock leader.
whatever you choose i hope you get some fish on it:exclam:
I paid 1p for 300 metres of braid, it came from China and cost £8.00 postage, tried it for the first time today and it seemed ok...Guess for £8.01 its worth a go
And when you hook into that 30lb cod and it snaps like cotton them chinese fellas will be getting a real ear bashing , I'm joking , it might be perfectly ok.
I use powerpro , it's good stuff , but watch yourself if you get snagged , don't go wrapping it round your hand , it cuts like a cheese wire
