Hi lads iv'e had a boat now for three years and get out when i can,iv'e been out in some choppy seas, flat seas and sometimes rough conditions,But when i go out on lazy swells i feel ill from the minute i stop the boat,is there any remodys out there to stop this sickness,iv'e tried sea legs and so on but thay do nothing for me ,any ideas would be greatfull, chers ian..

Sea sickness is caused by the confusion of what your sensors (anvils etc in ear) are telling your brain and what your eyes are telling it. To combat some of this take sea sickness tablets before you go as this thickens the liquid the sensors sit in (they dont move so much), switch off the engine if you can as engine fuels will cause you to feel nauseus, try to limit the time spent looking down into the boat to a minimum, look at the horizon pref the land as this will be static and reduces the confusion of signals, eat ginger biscuits or crystalised ginger as this will reduce the sick feeling, reduce the drink the night before and failing all the above sit under a big tree.

best regards
J

hi ian :) aye the lazy swells are a b----r:(

how do you take the sea legs:question:

my reccomendation is two the night before, and two on the morning of the trip,
good luck:exclam:

Much discussed subject this..I had a slight worry on the way out on saturday but if you are getting fish and keeping busy it usually takes your mind off it.

Ginger, travel sickness tablets and watching the horizon all help as well. But if you suffer from sea sickness, keep off the drink the night before..:D;)

big slow swells get to me a bit too, sorry to be brutal but i just lay the ground bait, groan and carry on lol,

i've never tried tablets, i just try to be sensible with the drink the night before and take plenty fluids out with me..
