What is the best headlight???

i just wanted to know in your opinion what is the best headlight for fishing , the brightest , the most durable , and 100% waterproof , i have heard about the cree headlight etc but i am not sure they dont look like they are going to be very bright.
opinion's please lads cheers.

£8? i was reading a thread before and people said they were paying 45 pounds and stuff?? and then i went on ebay and they all varyed in price and size and the look of them could you provide me with a link coz i aint got a clue which one people are talking aboot lol

for the cash the cree headlights off ebay are good - but you get what you pay for with the more expensive models...I bought a cree and am still very happy with it but I've gone back to my Princeton Tec Apex as it's a better all round light

i dont understand how this light can be any good for 8 quid lol , me and my dad havnt been fishing for a while and the last time we were fishing every one was using bulb headlight lamps but now all i can see is L.E.D headlights, i just need a very bright light that is reliable and durable i will see wot the cree does for me

The crees are good-they look nowt flash but the lad next to me on the Heugh had one on and it was bright-well worth the few quid.
On the other end of the scale is the £15-£200 bracket are the Tiga-these are like lighthouses on your head-and very very bright.
I have a H7 Lensor at under £40 and a back up small Petzel which i got free with my sea angler subscription mag.

everyone i have shown wants a one of these crees even my mate with a tiga is after a one so that tells you how good they are

I have a cree and a tiga, the tiga is like a lighthouse and lasts for hours, probs the best light on the market but at £150 ish there expensive. The cree lights are fantastic value for money and the brightness has to be seen to be believed but on full beam the batteries don't last more than 2hrs. Saying that tho, I've heard people have converted them to a bigger battery pack making them last long enough for a session.

i have just bought a speleo nova plus it is that good the tiga has been binned.
there is a couple of battery options non rechargable and chargable.
have a look at caving supplies for the best price.
60 hours light off a square duracell around 70 quid for the lamp.I opted for the rechargable at 135 with charger believe me for a single led lamp it lights the rock edges up.No more heavy batteries around the waist and with a name like speleo you no it will be well made.

Ive used a few LED and bulb headlights and i can honestly say the Tiga Sl-85 is the best of the lot. They get a bit of stick for the heavy batteries but the newer models have much lighter ones that you barely notice. They are simple and reliable if a little expensive, but they will last.

Princeton Tec Apex for me, no heavy battrey to carry and no wire to rub on your neck.

Hi there, dont want to start a massive CREE Headlamp discussion but like durham lad says,the seller from Hong Kong is spot on, i have had 2 off this seller on seperate occasions, the lights are good value for money at approx.£8

I think it depends where you fish, personally I fish the cliff tops and beach, I use a tiga SL 85 and have a lenser HR7 as a back up, both cracking lights, I think the tiga would be too much for piers etc, also about the cree lights I also bought one, they give off a good beam but are very flimsy, I dont think they would take many knocks but you get what you pay for.

cree for £8 quid its the best av seen for some time,its got a beam like a pit lamp and a flood like a tigra,cant imagine if they have a more expensive model what that would do.well done someone.

Almost exactly the same as the lenser H7 and only £12.50 delivered.

I own the Cree 5w, the fenix HP10 and one of these.

IMHO the fenix is the best for build quality ( but costs £50 ), the Cree 5w is the brightest ( but suffers from poor build quality and eats batteries ) and the deal extreme H7 clone is the best value.
