What rod and reel?

Having taking up golf after a good football career which has now ended due to injury, I also like to do a bit fishing in spare time, I am just the basic fisherman though.

I have been fishing many of times at hebburn and south shields beach, Neva catching anything but small stuff! I only have the basic fishing gear though.

I am looking to start fishing more every year in the winter as golf isn't available in these snowy times.

I would appreciate any advise on a rod and reel with £250 being the limit for both items. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Get yourself to reelsport for a century kompressor ss and a Penn mag or saltist reel mate

Currently using a Abu, this was bought from reel sport last year but apparently this is a boat reel and only cost £60, as for the rod I dnt no wat kind it is but not very good that's for sure. How much would these items cost the compressed and that reel what was stated. As I said my limit is only 250 for both items.

The ss with either of the reels will cost more than your budget mate but it's good kit
