What size hooks?

Just wondering what kind and size hooks people use over the winter and does this make a big difference on catching fish ?

I use 2/0 and 3/0 depending really. Unsure on what kind because the rigs I bought to use I bought them in bulk already made. Having bigger hooks would hook bigger fish because you can get a bigger bait on it but also a bigger hook won't let the fish swallow the hook right down if its undersize.

Sakuma manta extra 4/0-7/0 depends where I'm fishing
Cheaper option is varivas big mouth which are the same hooks. I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

For smaller species I fish with 1/0-2/0

i use ...

size 2 ....... if theres only whiting and dabs about.

size 1/0 .... if its only small codling, coalies and whiting.

size 3/0 .... if all i,m after is cod.

if im fishing at hieght and might have to lift a heavier fish some distance i,ll go up to a 5/0.

i catch dabs and whitings on 3/0s

4/0 - 3/0 with worm and crab/mussel baits pennels , or 3/0 - 2/0 worms baits - pennels .
