Caught this, freelining some rag worm the other night at Trow rocks, not sure what it is. It was a bout 5 inches long:

It is a coalie mate, just a funny coloured one

Would like to claim it as a whiting, but consensus seems to be young coley. There was loads of them it that helps, about 15 trying to get at the worm as soon as I dropped it in.

Looks like a young Pollock to me its bottom lip looks slightly bigger than top

Looks like a small coley to me, been messing around a few times in rock pools and playing about trying to catch small coleys and had that exact same scenario.

The lateral line is straight so it's a coley. Whiting and pollack both have a curve in the lateral line.

Would say a whiting but never seen one that colour or is it just flash off camera thats made it appear yellow. Did it have lots of little small sharp needle point type teeth?
