whats eating the mackerel

me mate deckhur from the centre has targetted blue sharks and porbeagles on king eddies and cullercoats beaches fishing a live mackeral of a balloon had 2 solid takes and drops last summer, prob dolphins but we did see a porbeagle doing some chench which brough the efforts on.

there could possible be tope in that area aswell as even though king eddies has rock marks either side there is clear ground so far out which is what tope like to feed on the flatties that could be there. just a thought of course.

Chris on the famous we have hooked into tope (and seen it)snapped the leader also Dave owner hooked a shark had along side ,only Wednesday of this week jay (north east tackle )had a shark chasing his cod, plus we see sharks off Hartlepool, when the lads say flat fish is the best bait for tope wonder why all the top tope fishing charter boats use mackeral :D:D:D
think they hunt by scent :o:o:o ,dolphins love flat fish they chase them up the tyne as far as scotswood :o:o:o
a nice big rubby dubby bag dug in the sand on lo water with a marker may just be the answer and fish from three hours into the flood to top of the tide;););)

thats the one mate thanks,i remember reading that in a really ancient sea angler in the seventies,so it can be done,a lad i know who runs the occasional charter out of st abbs has had big cod and coalfish and mackerel chewed up whilst being reeled in 100 yards off st abbs head,he doesnt think its seals, could be dolphins but they normally show on the surface when a boats about,im just intrigued by the thought of it,mebbes fishing from the boat close in to some of the rock marks where the pollack, coalies and mackerel hang out, have any of you lads lost hooked fish then lost them in mysterious circumstances(like just a heed coming back):yltype:
That'll be the creature from the black lagoon bud,he moved up this way a couple of years back when the sea temperature began
rising dramatically.Getting on a bit now,so he eats a fair bit mackerel,cos it's
good for his arthritis,so he was telling me anyway.;)
