I hope someone can help me wor lass is going to buy a new boat rod and reel for me next week but she wants me to get a good one rather than anything cheap etc that really isnt up to scratch. What would you recommend ?. I was thinking of going to id fishing and frasers to have a look next week to decide but thought if I could get a bit of help here first to put is on the right track I would like a level wind multiplier.
Cheers

Best boat rod&reel

The very best boat rod&reel would be the one you borrow, why? You can scratch & damage the ring/s on the rod loose most the braid off the reel then drop it,return them both to the owner and your laughing because its cost you nothing.:d:d:d:d:d:d:d:d;);)

go 4 a fladden maxximus solid carbon 20/50 class with a shimano tld 2o u wont go wrong with that set up itl cost sum were around the £200 mark

Daiwa Kenzaki Braid Special 20lb Class and a Shimano Charter Special TR 2000 Lever Drag. Two cracking bits of kit and a level wind to boot.

Thanks for the advice lads the shimano's seems to be a good choice they look a great reel and have some good write ups about them.
cheers

I went to see alan at my local tackle shop AMH at Annfield Plain and he set me up with a nice Diawa rig. Level wind reel with depth counter (7000) size - and also a very rod 20lb class and braid for the reel.
All of it still going strong. And lovely to fish with cost about £150.
Much better seeing you local dealer-yes there are bargains on flea bay such as powersticks but i am very happy with my rig.
One thing i would like to say as well is i won a big Penn boat reel with level wind which i take as back up-its loaded with 50lb braid but i much prefer the smaller reel-its more fun.
Mick.

thanks to everyone for the sound advice, I am looking forward to choosing the new rod and reel hopefully next week and getting out on a boat or two soon.
