whats the best oil??

No bother mate, on my unmagged ones it's stamped on the handle side side plate around where the clutch button is:)

thats where my old 6000c is stamped mate! just thought that the new asian ones had ''made in sweden'' stamped on them aswell:confused::confused:
iknow how that sounds haha!:D:D had a senior moment there!!:D:D

i have always used yellow rocket fuel & they run fast so as has been said start with mags full on & adjust as u go, your reel has a chance 2 come with thick oil in the bearings m8 so 2 use the yellow or red u will have 2 soak the bearings in lighter petrol 4 few hours then let dry on a towel & repeat again, this will clean off all the thick oil.
then as has been said all u need is a drop in each bearing.
happy fishing m8.

Ironic i was reading this thread again when yer chucked this post in. As I understand it mate, if it's got made in sweden stamped on the reel itself then it's been made in sweden. That's what the retailer told me anyway

rite mate thats settled:D:D cheers mate! we got there in the end!

My understanding is there is NO best oil as such, its what oil suits you. IE its no good using rocket fuel and birdying all the time etc, there is oil to slow the reel down aswell etc. I was told simple 3 in 1 oil or the oil that came with the reel is sufficient enough.

hi all!
im going to be the proud owner of a abu mag elite very soon(my first mag reel)
was wanting to know whats the best oil to use on it??
have heard that yellow rocket fuel is the best but would like some more
advice please:):)
really chuffed i is:D:D never used a mag reel before cant wait any you lads got any tips on the mag elites too??

i normaly on my fishing reels just put car gearbox oil in protects the bearings a bit better,

if you realy want summit lighter just put car engine oil in no need for fancy oils in your fishing reels.

thing with the gearbox oil is i normaly put some of this on a spoon and heat up a little over a gas ring or electric ring to thin it out so as it penetrates into bearing better just one small drop in each bearing is enough.

just what i do anyway
