4 snow ploughs got us out

talking to a guy from the highways agency this afternoon. a woman got stuck on the road between blanchland and stanhope yesterday, a milde from the main road. It took a big V plough, a side plough and a laoding shovel 4 hours to get to her and 6 hours to get back out. the consett/stanhope road is just open tonight, but still iffy

Just been wet here today MARK starting to melt now. Not as high as you are though. Some canny pics there mate not seen it as bad as that for about 23 years. Hope its another 23 till we see it again lol.

forecast isn\'t brill, no thaw as such, maybe a bit of a mely by day but frosts every night then snow again for most of next week off and on.

Allt he ski runs are open this weekend for any skiers/snowboarders out there.

little know but there are about a dozen permanent ski tows out here, duff fell even has a piste machine!

Thank God it\'s Friday, relatively speaking. It\'s my job at school to decide whether we\'re open or shut because of the weather. I\'ve been in at 6 o\'clock every day this week and have proclaimed it open every day (much to the annoyance of the staff). No snow in the Midlands I\'m afraid. Had a few whiskys now and I\'m off to bed.

Looks quite bad, my mam and dad have a caravan in alston and have seen some bad pics of snow around that way.

Had a ride over that road yesterday Mark and it must have been pretty bad mate. It was starting to blow back onto the road from the moors and with the snow forecast for the next couple of days again looks like it could close again. Wouldn\'t like to get stuck up there mind. Hope you have plenty of supplies in lol.
