Which make of rod rings are "best"

Considering having a go at rebuilding an old rod (due to illness I've got rather more time on my hands this winter than I would like, and before I get one of the lads on the forum to do a proper job!), and cannot decide what make of rings to buy.
What does the collective wisdom suggest/recommend. Bearing in mind I can be a lazy sod when it comes to cleaning kit after a session....

I love the k guides but a lot of lads don't like them, the Alconites are an alright guide as well but I think minimas look cheap. I do like the black minimas with the silver inside though. K guides are the best in my eyes but they are the most expensive

Hi what rod are you intending rebuilding? What sort of fishing is it to be used for?and what type of reel and line will you be using?

It's a 1980's Diawa Paul Kerry Carbon fibre - was the first "decent" rod I ever bought, so was considering restoring rather than rebuilding. Was a good rod for fishing rock edges/kelp/cliffs and piers. Sadly no one at Diawa could tell me what rings were fitted originally, so probably have to go for FUJI KWSG as they are closer in looks to the originals, which have quietly turned to rust over the last 30 years.....

I've used Fuji BNHG Intermediate Rings for the last 30+ years without any problems, put a set on my diawa whisker when i first got the rod and i still have the same ones on today

I'd use cheap and cheerful minima's if it's your 1st build because you will probably knack it up anyway lol. No offence intended, speaking from experience as I'm sure many others will agree. On a plus note if you do get it right the light rings will compliment the rods action

Having just found a page from old Diawa catalogue (I really must throw some bloody junk away) the BNHG's are probably the closest to the original rings, now all I've got to find is a replacement reel seat....

Fuji BNHG rigs mate, my dad still has the same rod which is now OLD haha. Still capable of throwing a lead a good old way. Best of luck
