Hiya all,

I am just getting back into my shore fishing after a short break, could some one give me some advice on which rod to buy. I was thinking about a century rod or a zziplex I will be using this for rough ground marks. Prefer a 14ft rod also

Regards

Gordon

Depends on your budget but as said the afar 6 and bait rods are very good and will handle all fishing requirements IMO

In my opinion its pointless asking others as you will probably get about 20 different answers of what to buy plus they wont be using the rod..you will, your best off going to a reputable fishing shop and tell the owner what your looking for in a rod and what you will be using it for..rough / clean ground or mixed and he will probably select a few to choose from, ask to have a hold of them and a good look so you know what your buying :)
Hope this helps

This is proberbly the best advice anyone can give you as said its you that will be using the rod, everyone is different what feels right for one person will be totally wrong for another. At the end of the day there's lot of rods on the market that will do the job it depends on what you want to spend and how comfortable the rod feels like to you,

I've seen lot of people over the years buy a rod user it a couple of times then sell it saying its no good when its not so much the rod its just they haven't gave it any time to get used it.

Yeah I understand everyone ha s different rod choices. May be the question has came across wrong I just wanted to pick up a few ideas of which rods are know to be the best. As for the budget I have I would say approx £400 sorry if i have caused confusion

have a look at the leeda icon range of rods, i think there are three in the range and i have the ultima power version, i find this is a quite pokey but easy to use at 13foot 10inch with a built in captive reducer adding about another foot or so. With a price tag of only £135.0 i think you will be very suprised at the quality of this rod, slightly butt heavy if you use it reel down but apart from that a very good rough ground rod m8.
