Which Seat Box?

I'm looking at getting a seat box for my sea gear.

I've seen a few Shakespeare ones on the pier, as well as the odd Daiwa box.

Any advice or recommendations?

I'm after a bigger size one so I can just keep everything together.

I'm also looking at getting myself a folding trolley for lugging the thing up and down, round and about-again; any recommendations?

cheers

Steve

Shakespeare ones are spot on like, I've got the bigger one which I bought second hand off here for 20 quid I think it was. It included the tray which also attaches to the top even though ill never use it. Mine comes with the standard strap to carry it but I would advise you buy the breakaway back rest or Sherpa if you need to walk a distance to fish and you have loads of gear in it.

My way of thinking is if I had a bigger box I would pobs carry more kit no good if ya walking a couple of miles to your spot . I've got the blue beta box and its spot on hold everything I need

Aye that's it like, I've gotta watch I don't throw too much into mine loo.

I have a "Shakespeare" box but I am guessing all boxes are made in the same far east factory and you are paying extra for the sticker! Just like lunch boxes etc for kids.

What I will say is I need to get a frame to carry it on my back as a full box is a nightmare to carry with just a strap on your shoulder.

Shakespear do a trolly for your box but they don't go cheap I think they cost about £50 prob try get 2nd hand m8

I use a beta box with breakaway back rest. I've also got a trolley very similar to this one

fishingrepublic.org/product_info.php?products_id=4204

The beta box fits on sideways so it fits without removing the back rest. I use a bungee to hold it in place.

I did replace the handle on the trolley wi a longer one (really just because I broke the old one when I was using e trolley to move a book case that was too heavy to carry). Also added a rod rest to the handle.

Whatever sort you go for I would definitely recommend the air filled tyres rather than solid wheels - then you can take it on the beach without it sinking in the sand.

Thanks for the top notch advice:)

I've no intention at all of carrying it on my back (or shoulder for that matter;))

I had a couple of bouts of surgery on my lower back a few years ago and avoid carrying anything over about 25lbs on my back now, although I often carry a 65lb canoe on my shoulders:rolleyes:

Anyway that ebay link looks canny enough,I'd already sniffed out the folding trolley but hadn't found the package deal;)

I'm fairly settled on the trolley, but I think I'll have to try and have a closer look at the differences between the Daiwa and Shakespeare boxes, before going for it:D

Thanks again

Steve

I have both the Shakespeare Beta & Team Boxes the beta is about 20 yrs old & the team about 12 yrs old, both have been well used and abused but still going strong their a good tuff box. A friend of mine had the diawa team box from what I can remember I think its the same box as the Shakespeare with the diawa name on it
