Hi Gregg, I have a couple of Carp rods that I use mate and they make for great sport. If I want to fish very light I just use a small telescopic rod and you have to play the fish for a while which is cracking.
The Carp rods I also double up for float fishing for Pollack, or Bass fishing. I looked for a while before I found the ones I like but if you go to any tackle shop they will let you have a feel and a bit of a swish about with it before you buy.
Ive had lots of diffrent spinning rods and shimano beats them all either the stc spinning travel rod or my favorite is the shimano nexave 20-60g but they also do one upto 100g
Same as Jim mate,Carp rods,I actually got mine in a NESA auction off Mark (Mod) plus another one my son uses and it has served me well,I've got various fixed spool reels but i prefer the Okuma undertaker 50,reasonble price and excellent quality.
I have a carp rod you can try gregg to see if you like it just bought a greys 9ft spinnig rod 30 - 100grm and a shimmano baitrunner 3500 and got some braid for it ..looks the muts nards can't wait to have a bit play with it
