had a trip up Whinney loch for a few hours yesterday the first time this year and its still up their as my favourite fishery ! pound for pound they are the strongest fighting fish Ive ever played. its only a small loch and a few times had the line stripped well over the backing, managed 12 to the net between 2-5 lbs nothing huge just prime quality fighting fish. If you's get the chance its a great shot, definitely recommend it. Fly of the day was a small black & peacock slowly pulled just under the surface they were going wild for it, endless pulls throughout had the heart rate going 10 to the dozen still dont know how they can pull a size 16 so much without getting caught but it all adds to the fun! for th last hour to give the arm a bit rest a stuck a big daft grey wolf on the top plenty snaps n gulps at it but just cudnt connect. Couldn't get any pics of the fish lads because the owner Ted great bloke is fond of a stress free release which is anly right, but heres a few pics around the loch

nice place very well run bit small for my liking though.
its rammed full of fish, you should try coldingham loch half mile further up the road now theres a lovely place to fish probs 20 times bigger than whinney not as many fish so you have to work for them.
