well, took meself off down to whitburn to fish a low water mark about 10:30 pm saturday night. nowt doing fishy, so decided to pack up after losing a rig aswell. my next port of call was going to be roker pier for the rest of the session so i took a glance up at it as i was packing up to see how many lights where on the end to gauge how busy it was. now thats the thing, when i looked up i cound see the round end ablase. i wasnt quite sure what i was seeing but yes, it was ablase. so, i finished packing me gear, trudged off the beach and proceeded along to roker.got onto the pier and passed three young lads with a rod or two and a big bag full of fosters lagereach. must have had a canny time.got to the end and found the remnants of a fire on the roundend. no wood or owt like that, just looked like napalm or something similar burning, anyhow culprits look like they have left, just three young'uns fishing the neckend.
Back to the fishing, 10 mins into the flood and i pulls out a codling just over a pound and a half, followed quickly by a canny flounder and then a whitey. i thought ive just hit a canny session here but all went quiet till 7 in the morning when i managed to snaffle a dab.In the meantime though i pulled in a blenny type fish thing which ive never caught before. ive put a piccy in so someone can identify it for me. could it be a rockling.
