Went out last night on the hunt for a cod or 2 6.00pm start ! started the night along at white house sands with high expectations ! Three of us were fishing, loads of weed, which presented us with a problem of to much weed, I classed it as unfishable due to the weed, nothing to show for us at white house sands , so we packed up & headed to Blyth pier, after a slow start, first codling approx 1.5lb to me, then a small lobster to my mate, both returned. After another quite spell, nice knock on my rod ! resulted ina nice 3.5lb cod, also returned alive, next to come was a small dab & a tommy, everything caught was returned to the sea, decided to pack up at 1.30am, walking off the pier a lad on the bend had just landed a cracking pollock must have been 5.5lb-6ld, he had also a nice cod for about 3.5lb.
Never seen much else caught on the pier last night, lug seemed to be the bait for me last night, but we had & tried, rag,razor,runnydown,muscle,lug & macky for tipping.
A long night with not very good results , but a least we gave the night a go.
