hi there been heading up cambois pier the last few nights warming up for the winter:eek:been going at 6.00pm till 1am we been taking spinning gear and bait rod through day light we been taking fair number of macky on spinner and on the bait rod few flattys and the odd small codling as soon as its dark we been catching lots and lots of whiting some of realy good size and to my supprise i also landed a bull huss on a size 1 flatty hook arnt these rare on our coast?any how i was well chuffed i have a pic of the fish i will put on when i find my leed for my phone.

Sure it was not a dogfish? been a few from Seaham of late.

If it was a bull huss it has got lost by about 150miles lol never heard of 1 lower than Berick.

Still nice to catch something other than the norm, makes for a good talking point in the pub :)

I seem to remember a couple of years ago, chatting to a lad on Blyth pier who said he had caught a Bull Huss the week before, showed me a pic too....cant remember if he caught it on the pier or whereabouts.??? ( must be my age..lol) but I agree with northeast1 they are very similar to a doggie.

dont think it was a doggie but yes i could be wrong the doggies iv seen seemed quite slim and long this had quite a big head and belly for the size of it it was only about 3and a half 2 four pound could this fish not have been brought in with the trawlers as i see them throwing fish overboard some times. like i say al try and get picture up and let yous judge 4 your self.
