Went down to Whitley tonight for about 1730 and set up stall in the middle
The sea had dropped a lot since yesterday so I was feeling optimistic as there was nice amount of movement but not stupid
LOADS of BIG weed floating around - even bumped into Marty E as he was getting dragged around by the stuff...he muttered something about "not staying here" and off into the darkness he wandered
So I fannied on for for the first 45 mins or so getting frustrated with weed etc when my Rod jumps out of the stand - my first reaction is %&*%*&^%
f****g weed again...however...weed doesn't shake it's head about:exclam:

A few people may remember me saying I'd yet to have a "fight" from a shore caught Cod...well now I have, coz this one used all the tricks coz my heart was in my throat a couple of times as it played about in the surf...
...eventually...
Gregg had turned at this point so was able to snap the happy Angler

Having been spoilt rotten on the boat this year...my guessing by the eyeball was WAAAAY out...I'd said it was a 4lber :red:
When weighed in at B.O.T.A.C Clubhouse it topped the scales at 6lb 7oz - a new PB
As a result I'm also the clubs newest member - along with Gregg

Had I been fishing tonights match I would have got heaviest fish too

Here's looking forward to the rest of the season
Cheers
Tony
