Whitley Bay beach 8/1/11

mate and I fished 5pm - 830pm. bait - squid,lug,razor and sprat. sea perfectly flat.
1st hour caught 2 small flatties after that nothing. mate blanked. good crack and coffee good.
Cannot verify but a man walking his dog told me his mate caught an 8lb cod night before at the boathouse mark. seemed genuine. Certainly nothing tonight

Hi, I'm still quite new to fishing and I'm wondering were the "Boathouse mark" Is....Is it near Tynemouth pier?

no m8 its at north end of whitley beach u cant miss it it just a little boat compound on the beach with a sml slipway.

Park in the pitch and putt car park, walk down the path past the office building down the hill a few stairs and boathouse is on your right.
Its a high tide mark, 1.5 hrs either side and better with a rough sea and a SE wind.

gets weeded up like no where else on earth during a big sea.
leave your rod on a tripod at your own risk lol

i have nearly been pulled in there by a monster ball of weed, had to cut my line with the scissors! lol

is known to chuck up a few good fish evey now and then
