the prom W/Bay
the prom W/Bay
guessing you fished at the end of the "new prom" built about 30 years ago, north end of W/B just round the corner from the lighthouse, dont bother when its light, its only 3-4 ft deep on a medium tide, to about 200.. yrds. best bet is a spring tide an extra 2 or 3 foot higher, and do it in the dark.its a little snaggy. look the day before if you can at low tide & you can see what you are casting onto and the best place to cast, theirs a little sewer pipe that comes out the prom , stand there and chuck it out about 75 yds straight out, its next to a bin, thats if the bin is still there, as the tide drops ( a spring tide ) as soon as you can get onto the boat house, 200/300 yrds south, get onto the right hand side of it only 10/ 20 yrds south of it,again, suss the place out at low tide, it moves around a bit, give it 2/3 hours after high tide, then forget it, back into 3/4 ft of water.try lug , some worm beds out there .. again you will see them at low tide, they do tend to move around a bit but usually in the same area ,or on a mid / hige-ish tide try there lug and rag all the way for me, look out for little scoops out in the sand, if you can hit them .. cod only , fished there for 30 years not bad nite out but goes crap after xmass, dont know why? , it just does, used to be a cracking spot, and you can stil pull a bigun everynow&again but as per usuall,it has died off a bit, since I was a Kid.....
