Went out in a hailstorm with wifes laughter echoing in my ears. got to mark to find i hadn't put flask lid on tight so bottom of box flooded with coffee. Also no one else fishing which was an ominous sign
anyway fished 2hrs up, 3.5hrs down. nothing doing until 20mins before high tide, then next half hour 2 codling, heaviest 4lbs 6ozs and 2 rockling then nothing again not even a bite.
moved down south of boathouse but nothing. Bait used lug,razor and Morrisons squid.
Somebody started fishing off st mary's prom he was only angler I saw.
Wind changed direction and was markedly colder with heavy snow. gave up when I lost feeling in my hands. They are the only parts that ever get cold.
A good night with heaviest fish this season can't understand why not more out as sea looked good

You're right there Arthur, and the rougher the better so it should produce over the next week. Perhaps with high water being at 4:20 ish, people were holding out until they could fish the low water in the evening.
