Went to South Wilkies on Sunday night with Stewy007. Met at the rendezvous cafe at about 1630. We had the choice of spots on the beach and plummed for the north end of Panama/South Wilkies - canny sea running and the new rod required christening.

Anyway we met in the car park and Stewy007 locked his keys in his car! Good start eh - so he borrowed my car to collect his keys and I started fishing!

First chuck I got snagged big style and lost most of my line. There must be a gulley with a sharp rock edge out there! While I was re-lining Stewy007 turned up and set up. His first chuck he forgot to link his sinker on the rotton bottom and ended up launching the lead to Norway and freelining a nice bait about 3 yards out!

So we both prepared for our second chuck and away we went. 30 mins later nee bites - time to rebait. Again I got snapped - nee line left again!!!

Stewy007 was also snagged so he rived at it with his full body weight (all 91/2 stone wet though by the way) Next thing - crash, bang, wallop - Stewy007 on his back in the sea as his line snapped. Credit to him, he got up and pretended it was deliberate (after checking to see nobody was watching)Very British.....

By this time the beach was chocker and we decieded to move on to Tynemouth. New line and rigs at the ready we went for it. First chuck - crack off! marvelous........ Had enough, packed up and went home! should have realised that it was going to be one of those nights as soon as the keys got locked in the car.

For what its worth we were using mussel and lug cocktails and caught nowt.

Hard lines steve (or should i have said snapped ones)No doubt Andysc will have something to say.Come one andysc get your own back.LOL

Excellent report mate the non catches are as important as the catches and I can definately relate to your night ..it happens everytime I go out :D

What a mare - canny report , i think we have all had one of them sometime or another - ,i had one last tuesday - decided to go over the rock marks on my bike ,ties the rod and rest together ,gets over to my mark ,about 10 min cycle from home ,gets a rig baited up ,then puts the rod together ONLY to find out i have the butt section of my Saturn and tip section of apollo mk1- they didnt fit at all - so the echos of BAST**D went round frenchies bay - went home sorted rods ,jumped in car and went to North Row Row Ends -so much for a bit fishing and exercise Ha Ha

Steve, its stewy07 now not 007! Thought i'd better change it cos the fish aren't exactly running scared!

Firstly, my keys got stuck in the car due to me replying to your question of 'you had sex today'! It broke my concentration and i was lost in an alusive trance.

Secondly, when i came back, you had picked the mark we were going to fish through your maps and inside info (Don't know who told you this but wants shot) I didnt want to upset you so went along with your plan of attack and as a mate didnt want you to feel alone on the beach at night. (know how you're scared of the dark)

Thirdly, that backward summersault was a practice dive i perform out on the footy pitch, with my hefty frame its a wonder the deep nightclubs resident D.J. didnt feel an extra beat in his music!

Next time we'll move a few yards to the right, where i'm sure we'll at least get our leads back at least once!!

Stewy07 - you got your name down for the north yet?

Should be a walkover mate..... Andysc on the south side and he's not allowed on the peir.

Last time I spoke to him he mentioned giving the pond in marine park a shot for the comp! Aparently theres a few of the south lads heading there. I'd heard there was a few canny goldfish and a terrapin lurking aboot.

Lol Steve......yep, I think we can all relate to your nights' fishin'.

Dunno what it is with beaches, but they always seem to be at war with me when I fish a beach......and they usually win........if owt's gonna go wrong.....it's on a beach...lol

"Stewy07 - you got your name down for the north yet? Should be a walkover mate".................I know it's a L/W comp - but I'd still advise using the tunnel or one of the many provided bridges at Newcastle, Steve :exclam:
