Got to Whitley beach north end for 7:30 and found the sea as flat as a witches boob. Had one chuck and decided it was no good so headed for Tynemouth the round head was chocka block but me and Stefan managed to mussel in what little space there was. Things seemed slow only the odd fish coming I've the rails but we stuck it out and landed a few fish. All codlings, smallest was 38cm just over a pound and whilst helping a lad land a weed fish I went back to my rod and found my line way off to the left, felt a nudge and was into a better fish. A codling at 44cm around 2lb which I kept. The rest went back. All fish taken on lug and crab. Left at 4:30am and straight to bed. Better than sitting in the house ?? Definatley !!!

Well dune mate a was out last nyt to at new Biggan was 3 ov us two rockling so moved to Tyne and got two cod ov 1lb all fish went bk

You did better than me last night mate. I couldn't believe how flat the sea was last night, much the same today, had nowt off the pier.

Sea is due to jack up a bit by thursday and into the weekend..... surf report is for between about 3-7ft depending on the day and tide.... debating to get some bait or grab my surfboard!
