Not a lot to report really. Arrived at Shields this morning around 10:40 with the aim of fishing the Hole in the Wall in search of Plaice. At first things were a bit overcast and breezy but OK, not that anyone told the fish as bites were none existant. Then about an hour before HT the wind really got up and after battling for 20 minutes against my tripod being blown over I ended up moving up to the first gate as at least the fence isn't affected by the wind.

At last the sun came out and the wind eased a little but I have to say fishing today was more hard work than fun. I did though end up with my first Spotty of the year, small but perfectly formed and taken on Bluey just as the ebb started to kick in

No other bites all day until I packed up at 3:10 and headed for home

Nice one mate, yer done alot better than me when I fished it on saturday, hope you don't mind this semi hijack but I'm just really seeing if I can successfully put a pic on from photobucket

well done mate on getting one out i cast a few poppers and plugs around marsden rocks but the water is still to dirty

Aye I noticed a few lads heading up the pier with the spinning gear, including a couple with the obligatory 8 cans of fosters in a Morrisons carrier bag. Most of them came trudging back down not too long afterwards, except, strangely enough, the lads with the lager...
