Winter docking

Right lads, since it was pitch black at 6am and the water on the car was almost frozen this morning, i have started thing about the winter.

If your not planning on using the boat for 2-3 months over the cold winter months, what steps do you need to take? i.e drain the warter out the engine, use up the fuel or add doctor fuel to it etc etc

treat it as you would the car. Anti freeze in the engine/heat exchanger sorts the frost problem

as for the fuel, personally I think its better to keep the tanks full, the less air thats in the tanks the less condensation it will attract. condensation = water in fuel system.

all air has water in it so a completely empty tank will just gather loads of condensation

The fuel tank must be full, and if you are not going to use the boat then you must winterise the engine...look in the book you got with the boat/engine and it should tell you what you need to do...you should allways have the correct mixture of antifreeze in the engine at all times, even in the summer as it also acts as a corrosion protection fluid, the norm i have been advised is 50/50 with water
